# Archive Center

> Soft-archiving and restoring items across all modules

# Archive Center

The Archive Center provides a unified view of all soft-archived items across your farm. Instead of permanently deleting records, you can archive them to remove them from active views while preserving all data for future reference.

## Archivable Items

You can archive the following entity types:

| Type      | Icon | Examples                   |
| --------- | ---- | -------------------------- |
| Season    | 🌾   | Past growing seasons       |
| Field     | 🗺️  | Fields no longer in use    |
| Lease     | 📋   | Expired lease agreements   |
| Contract  | 📝   | Completed contracts        |
| Equipment | 🚜   | Retired machinery          |
| Delivery  | 🚚   | Past shipments             |
| Operation | ⚙️   | Completed operations       |
| Partner   | 🤝   | Inactive business contacts |
| Site      | 📍   | Decommissioned locations   |
| Input     | 🧪   | Discontinued products      |
| Seed      | 🌱   | Unused seed varieties      |

## How to Archive

Archive items from their respective detail pages:

1. Open the detail page of any item (field, season, equipment, etc.)
2. Click the **Archive** button
3. The item is immediately soft-archived and removed from active views

<Info>
  Archiving is non-destructive. All data, history, and associations are preserved. You can restore any archived item at any time.
</Info>

## Viewing Archived Items

1. Navigate to **Archive** in the left sidebar
2. The Archive Center lists all archived items across all types
3. Use the **search bar** to find specific archived items
4. Use **type filter chips** to narrow by category — chips show per-type counts and only appear for types with archived items

## Restoring Items

To restore an archived item:

1. Find the item in the Archive Center
2. Click the **Restore** button
3. The item is immediately restored to its original location and active views

## Archive Metadata

Each archived item shows:

* **Item name and type** with an icon badge
* **Who archived it** — The team member who performed the action
* **When it was archived** — Timestamp of the archive action

## Activity Log Integration

All archive and restore actions are recorded in the [Activity Log](/settings/notifications#activity-log), providing a complete audit trail of what was archived, by whom, and when.

<Tip>
  Use archiving to keep your active views clean without losing historical data. For example, archive past seasons after harvest to focus on the current growing period, then restore them anytime you need to review historical data.
