# Profile & Security

> Managing your account profile, security, display, and formatting settings

# Profile & Security

Manage your personal account settings from the **Settings** page. The settings page is organized into tabs, each accessible from a sidebar navigation.

## Accessing Settings

Click your **user avatar** in the top-right corner of the dashboard and select **Settings**, or navigate directly to the Settings page.

## Profile Tab

Update your personal information:

* **First Name & Last Name** — Your display name
* **Username** — A unique identifier (editable, must be unique across the platform)
* **Email** — Your account email (changing email triggers re-verification)
* **Avatar** — Upload a profile photo
* **Bio** — Short description (optional)

## Security Tab

Manage your account security:

### Change Password

Update your current password by providing your existing password and a new one.

### Two-Factor Authentication (TOTP)

Protect your account with time-based one-time passwords:

1. Click **Enable 2FA** in the Security tab
2. A QR code is displayed — scan it with an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, etc.)
3. The secret key is also shown for manual entry
4. Enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app to verify and activate
5. Once enabled, you'll need to enter a TOTP code at every login

A status badge shows whether 2FA is currently **enabled** (green) or **not enabled** (warning). You can disable 2FA at any time from the same section.

  Store your TOTP secret key or backup codes in a safe place. If you lose access to your authenticator app, you'll need to contact support to regain account access.

## Display Tab

Customize your visual preferences:

* **Theme** — Switch between **Light** and **Dark** mode (also available via the theme toggle in the top bar)

## Formatting Tab

Configure how numbers and dates appear throughout the platform:

### Number Format

Choose your preferred number formatting style with live preview:

| Style   | Example  |
| ------- | -------- |
| English | 1,000.00 |
| German  | 1.000,00 |
| French  | 1 000,00 |

### Decimal Places

Select how many decimal places to display: **0**, **1**, **2**, **3**, or **4**.

### Date Format

Choose your preferred date display format:

| Format     | Example    |
| ---------- | ---------- |
| YYYY-MM-DD | 2026-02-27 |
| DD/MM/YYYY | 27/02/2026 |
| MM/DD/YYYY | 02/27/2026 |
| DD.MM.YYYY | 27.02.2026 |

  Formatting preferences are saved to your account and applied globally across the entire dashboard. A live preview updates as you change settings so you can see the result before saving.

## Language Tab

Set your preferred language for the entire interface. Eyesotope supports **6 languages**:

| Language             | Code  |
| -------------------- | ----- |
| English              | en    |
| German               | de    |
| French               | fr    |
| Spanish              | es    |
| Brazilian Portuguese | pt-BR |
| Romanian             | ro    |

Language changes take effect immediately with no page reload. English is bundled with the app; other languages are loaded on demand for optimal performance.

## Units Tab

Configure measurement preferences:

* **Area Units** — Hectares, acres, or square meters
* **Temperature** — Celsius or Fahrenheit
* **Currency** — Your preferred currency for contracts and financial data

## App Settings Tab

Configure application behavior:

### Quick Add Button

* **Toggle** the floating Quick Add button on/off
* **Configure shortcuts** — Choose which quick actions appear in the menu (Batch Operations, Apply Inputs, Add Delivery)
* Only shortcuts for modules you have access to are shown
